Awards

Many of the recordings with which I have been involved have won awards, including:

Jennifer Higdon Percussion Concerto

Colin Currie and the London Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Marin Alsop

52nd GRAMMY Awards 2009- Best Classical Contemporary Composition

I did all the post-production on this recording - producer, editor, mixing and mastering engineer. More detailed information can be found here. It is released on the London Philharmonic's own label, LPO Records.

Sonatas & Metamorphoses (piano works by Liszt and Wagner) - Thomas Hitzlberger

Franz Liszt International Grand Prix du Disque 2007

I engineered, edited and mastered this recording, working with producer Ates Orga. We recorded it in Munich on Liszt's own Steingraeber piano, which looks and sounds like no other I have ever encountered. Reviewing the CD in the Sunday Times, Stephen Pettitt said that the piano "rejoices in a beautiful, satiny timbre". Thomas Hitzlberger's performances, including the Liszt transcription of Wagner's Liebestod and the monumental B-minor sonata, were described by Bryce Morrison in Gramophone as being "deeply committed and finely recorded".

It is released on Ambronay Editions.

Father and Son (Wagner scenes and arias) - Simon O'Neill

New Zealand classical album of the year 2010

This was recorded in New Zealand and produced by my former EMI colleague David Groves. After the sessions were over, it was brought back to London for post-production, including some vocal overdubs to add to Simon O'Neill's performances from New Zealand. I recorded vocal overdubs with Sir John Tomlinson and Susan Bullock in All Saints' Church, East Finchley.

It was released on EMI Classics.
